On 15th September 2026, our annual Inter-house Swimming Gala was held at the newly renovated Kowloon Tsai Swimming Pool, culminating in a brilliant showcase of dedication amid sparkling waters and energetic applause.
Students and teachers gathered to support our swimmers, who demonstrated unwavering commitment and set a total of eight new records: three team records and five individual records. Among these outstanding achievements, Li Sum Yiu (6B) broke the 50-metre freestyle record, while Li Cheuk Yiu (6A) and Ho Pui Yan (5B) broke the A Grade 100-metre backstroke record, displaying exceptional talent and a drive for distinction.
Throughout the event, the stands erupted with enthusiastic cheers as students showcased their immense support for their respective Houses and classmates, culminating in Hok House clinching the overall championship.
We were honoured to welcome Ms Simmi Chan, a professional squash player and distinguished alumna from the Class of 2018, as the Guest of Honour. Her gracious presence and inspiring remarks enriched the occasion and underscored the spirit of excellence that defines our school community. The Swimming Gala brought our school community together in a celebration of camaraderie, sportsmanship and shared achievement.

Inter-House Athletics Meet
Blessed with clear skies and a sun as bright as our spirits, our annual Inter-house Athletics Meet was held at Wan Chai Sports Ground on 9th and 10th September.
Our athletes demonstrated excellence and unwavering determination across track and field events, breaking a total of 11 records: five in team categories, five in non-team categories, and one in the inter-house relay event. Special congratulations go to Wong Wing Tung (6A) , who broke three records in the A Grade 200m, 400m and Long Jump. Beyond the competition, the Meet was filled with fun and lighthearted moments. The Form One girls’ jubilant cheering kept the Heep Yunn spirit alive, while the Form Six girls’ Fun Run and the Inter-team relays ended the event on a high note.
We were honoured to welcome back our alumna and elite basketball player, Ms Rachel Li Tsz Kwan, as the Guest of Honour. Leaving us with the powerful message “Today We Are One”, her story of resilience inspired us all. The two days of fierce competition, spirited cheering and shared triumphs embodied the very best of our school community.

Mentorship Scheme
Student-mentees and teacher-mentors spent two afternoons on 7 and 8 September attending the first of the three annual Mentorship Scheme meetings this year. New members of Heep Yunn had the chance to meet their mentors for the first time, while current members took the opportunity to reconnect with their mentors after the summer break.
Since the launch of the Scheme in 2012, the School has been matching every student with a teacher, who meets with her regularly throughout her studies here and devises goals for personal development and life planning together. This year, the Scheme also echoes one of the school’s Major Concerns on fostering positive peer and teacher-student relationships.

The Commencement of the School Year 2026-2027
1 September marked the commencement of the new school year. As Heep Yunn’s gates swung open, the corridors came to life once again, bustling with fresh and familiar faces alike. Rejuvenated from summer vacation and captivated by various newly renovated facilities, our girls engaged in delightful conversation, mirroring the jovial atmosphere in the campus.
To inaugurate the upcoming academic year, our Headmistress, Ms. Bella Leung, inspired us with an insightful speech about Heep Yunn’s 90-year history. Weaving the past into the present, she then spoke about the School’s 2025-2028 Major Concerns, highlighting the School’s active role in promoting students’ wellbeing and fostering a global mindset in students. The mission-driven activities to be held are hoped to enrich our girls’ learning and development.
Looking ahead, may we await a fruitful year of shared achievements, indelible memories, and continuous growth.

Awards and Accolades
Heep Yunn Students among Hong Kong Team Representatives Claim Silver at 25th China Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad
Three of our students, Wang Xixi, Wong Yin Chan, and Tse Yan Tung, were selected by the Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education and the International Mathematical Olympiad Hong Kong Committee to compete at the 25th China Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (CGMO). Competing alongside some of Asia's brightest young mathematicians, all three proudly earned a Silver Award.
Widely regarded as one of the most prestigious academic competitions, the 25th CGMO brought together 39 teams of elite female secondary school students from Chinese provinces and autonomous regions, as well as Singapore. Our three students, who were among just 12 selected to represent Hong Kong, China, faced two 4-hour problem sets in two consecutive mornings, and solved challenging proof-based problems.
By demonstrating exceptional logical reasoning and problem-solving skills, our students not only made their mark on the global stage but also proved that young women can excel at the advanced levels of mathematics. Their accomplishment reflects Heep Yunn’s dedication to fostering excellence in mathematics and empowering students to realise their potential in STEAM fields.
