The Hong Kong Model United Nations is a student-run conference for secondary school students from both local and international schools. First established in 1988, it has grown to become Hong Kong’s largest MUN conference, providing a platform for academic exchange and having debates on issues of global political significance.
This year, 13 students from Forms 2 to 4 participated in the 3-day conference held at the Hong Kong Science Park. Having been allocated to committees like WHO, ECOSOC and the EU, participants conducted intensive research and debated on various global issues acting as ‘delegates’ from different countries. Overall was an eye-opening experience that prepared students to become conscientious global citizens who are able to think critically and debate confidently.
