Foundation Day, held on 23rd October, marked the 88th anniversary of Heep Yunn School. This special day was celebrated with great fervour and enthusiasm by students, teachers, alumni, and staff members.
During the Thanksgiving Ceremony, we expressed our gratitude for the past fruitful years through prayers and hymns, with a moving performance by the School Choir. This year, we were honoured to have Ms. Carole Hoyan, Professor in the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as our guest speaker. Her speech prompted us to reflect on what brings colour and satisfaction to life, and how to discover ideals and meaning. Her personal stories illustrated the importance of cherishing life’s joys and overcoming challenges with resilience and gratitude. As we celebrated Heep Yunn’s legacy, we were also reminded to embrace fulfilment and contentment in our own lives.
In addition to the ceremony, another highlight of the day was the celebration activities organised by the Student Association. The dancers’ precision and energy brought the stage to life, creating a memorable experience for everyone. With joy and laughter, the show concluded with video clips of teachers and students sharing blessings for the school.
As we reflect on the past and celebrate the present, we also look forward to the bright and promising future of Heep Yunn. May we all move forward together towards a future filled with success and unity.
